AFFN Education
AFFN Education Workshop: Silent Film at Full Blast
What can be heard when a film is silent? In this workshop, you will become a sound designer who will add sound to a short silent film by Georges Mélièse using your voice, body and daily tools. You will discover the power of sound in storytelling and realize that even a silent film can be full of noise, rhythms and sonic surprises. This creative workshop combines play, sound and imagination and proves that even a silent film may engage your sense of hearing.
With Mellisa Freti and Giulia Gandini (Associazione Avisco).

AFFN Industry
AFFN Industry: Archive Films in Czech Cinemas
A panel discussion on the central topic of this year’s Industry programme of the Archive Film Festival Network, coordinated by the Summer Film School. Our guests will address the challenges of archive film promotion and acquisition in the Czech cinema environment. How much does it cost to distribute archive films? Are they sought by the audience? Is it worthwhile to organise special screenings with one-time rights? More than these questions will be discussed by film distributors, cinema managers, film club members and journalists.
With SFS programme director Jan Jílek, Czech and Slovak distributor Ivan Hronec, Czech cinema director Jiří Flígl, film club lector Petr Sokol.
